This week is really important for two reasons in particular.

The first being the most obvious – the election is on Tuesday.

The second is that even though Hurricane Sandy is over, the clean-up and relief efforts are still ongoing.

First things first though, Tuesday, November 6th is the day you need to get out and VOTE for the President of the United States of America.

Whether you are partial to the Red or the Blue, it’s all about the RED WHITE AND BLUE and it is up to YOU to decide the direction of the country for the next four years.

If you missed out on the debates, you can watch all three below:

If you are unsure of your polling area, Google has a handy locator site where you can plug in your address and it will provide your polling place and a ballot summary so you can do some research on the other candidates running for local offices.

After your ballot is cast, gather up your friends for an election night countdown party! If you need some HPG Inspiration for your party, we know all about throwing election themed soirees! As a bi-partisan company, Hollywood Pop has coordinated fundraising gallas for BOTH parties! Check out photos from our Obama event on our Facebook page!

Here are a few ideas from Rachael Ray to make your party POP!

Set the scene by hanging a curtain around the bar to create a voting booth in which you can either serve up the booze “liberally” or “conservatively”!

Serve up some Campaign Trail Mix, Bipartisan Salad, Uncle Sammies, Elephant Ears and Donkey Tails, and The All American cocktail!

If you live on the East Coast, please reach out to your friends and neighbors who may not have electricity and share the night with them. It is their future as well.

There are many areas still without electricity even though the hurricane blew through almost a week ago.

This stunning photo of semi-darkened Manhattan skyline is the current face of New York Magazine, but it only gives a limited bird’s eye view of the destruction Hurricane Sandy wrought in the area.

Please remember that many people lost everything in this disaster, and in this tough economic state it is hard enough to get by without having to start over from the ground up.

There are many donation and volunteer sites out there to donate money, blood, goods and services such as the Red Cross, The Backyard Humanitarian, and Occupy Sandy Relief.

If you have links to area specific locations please post them in the comment section of this blog and we will be sure the word gets out.

Every little bit helps. The last week has been no picnic.

Take care POP Fans and make a difference!

Get out and help.

Remember to POP the VOTE!

xoxo
